Not all sunscreens are created equally. High SPF mineral-based sunscreen products containing zinc oxide -- the most-effective broad spectrum non-chemical sun-blocking agent -- have not been widely popular with consumers because they are cosmetically unattractive, commonly leaving an unflattering white residue. Applied Therapeutics was able to finally solve this problem by formulating state-of-the-art sunscreen containing Z-Cote (transparent zinc oxide) and T-Cote (transparent titanium dioxide), that does not deposit this chalky residue.
