Nanotechnology and Patent Pools: One-Stop License Shopping

This project examined the viability of using patent pools in nanotechnology as a means to avoid the high cost associated with acquiring numerous licensing agreements needed to create a product.

The assessment has been carried out by examining the benefits and disadvantages of patent pooling while looking at case examples throughout American history. Interviews with companies centering around their opinions on the feasibility of using patent pools provide insight on the current patent landscape climate in nanotechnology.
